Every fellow moves through the same milestones with their mentor.
You and your mentor identify a research question with a genuine gap in the literature — the standard a journal editor looks for — and agree a rigorous methodology to answer it.
With more frequent mentor meetings than the Scholar Programme, you carry out your analysis and draft a full manuscript written to academic publication standards.
Your mentor helps you shortlist suitable student-friendly and early-career journals, format your manuscript to each one’s guidelines, and write a strong cover letter.
You submit to your chosen journal and, if reviewers request revisions, your mentor guides you through a considered response — the same peer-review cycle professional academics navigate.
A note on outcomes: the Fellowship guarantees full support through submission, not acceptance — no reputable programme can promise a publication decision, which rests with each journal’s independent editors and reviewers.

Fellows finish with a publication-ready manuscript — formatted to a target journal’s guidelines, complete with abstract, references, and any figures or datasets — and a submission logged with that journal. You also receive an OCAR certificate recognising the Fellowship.
